Professional Education & Training Scholarship Award – Certification

The IAAHPC’s Professional Education and Training Scholarship-Certification is a newly minted program. This scholarship is akin to the PETS Scholarship, which is awarded to veterinary and veterinary technician students to attend the IAAHPC annual conference.

The PETS Award-Certification will be given to a professional who is dedicated to the emerging field of animal hospice and end-of-life care experiences and desires to achieve the Animal Hospice and Palliative Care Certification designation.

Dignified and respectful animal end-of-life care services have grown in awareness around the world. Professionals are taking this opportunity to elevate their skill level in hospice and palliative care services, learning from the world’s foremost experts in every part of end-of-life care for animals.

The PETS-Certification Award is proud to offer an eligible veterinarian and veterinary technician financial assistance to achieve the Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Veterinarian (CHPV®) and/or the Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Technician (CHPT®) credentials.

The honored PETS-Certification Award winners have the option of:

Complementary base registration to attend the annual IAAHPC conference
$500 applicable for travel expenses associated with attending an in-person conference
Recognition at the annual conference during the Opening Reception and at other times throughout conference

$1,000 applicable to Certification module fee ONLY;
Recognition at the annual conference during the Opening Reception and at other times throughout conference

Eligibility requirements:

Two years minimum clinical experience
Current license
Be an IAAHPC member in good standing

In addition to the eligibility requirements, those interested in applying for the scholarship will:

Complete the application, to include a 500-word essay
Provide a current resume
Submit a professional photo
Submit one letter of recommendation

Applications will be accepted from June 1st until September 1st, with award winners announced by September 15 each year.
