The Professional Education & Training Scholarship (PETS) Award — Certification

The International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care PETS Award — Certification is given to professionals dedicated to the emerging field of animal hospice and end-of-life care and strive to achieve one of IAAHPC’s veterinary certifications.

For committed professionals who can’t afford the certification program, there’s help.

We’re proud to offer financial assistance for eligible veterinarians or veterinary technicians to achieve either the Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Veterinarian (CHPV®) and/or Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Technician (CHPT®) credentials.

Dignified and respectful animal end-of-life care services have grown in awareness around the world. We want to do our part to ensure professionals are taking every opportunity to elevate their skill level in hospice and palliative care services, learning from the world’s foremost experts in every part of end-of-life care for animals.

Honored PETS Award Winners Receive:

Complimentary base registration attendance to the annual IAAHPC conference

$500 for travel expenses associated with attending an in-person conference

Recognition at the annual conference during the Opening Reception and at other times throughout the conference

or

$1,000 applicable to Certification module fee ONLY

Eligibility requirements:

Two years minimum clinical experience
Current license
IAAHPC member in good standing

In addition to the eligibility requirements, applicants must:

Complete the application with a 500-word essay
Provide a current resume
Submit a professional photo
Provide one letter of recommendation



Applications will be accepted June 1st through September 1st, with award winners announced by September 15th each year.
