About Peaceful Passage
Founded in 2009, Peaceful Passage was Maryland’s first in-home euthanasia practice and is 100% ambulatory. Our goal is to ensure families feel supported, comforted, and prepared; ultimately strengthening the human-animal bond and creating the most peaceful end of life experience possible. We believe in creating fulfilling and meaningful careers in veterinary medicine while offering flexibility and support for what’s important outside of work as well.
This role is ideal for someone looking for a change of pace and workflow. Our doctors enjoy working independently while remaining highly connected remotely with our support team, fellow doctors, and management.
Our appointments provide time for doctors and clients to slow down, connect, and take time in saying goodbye. Our doctors are supported by a highly trained and specialized support team who handle screening, scheduling, and all client communications.
We provide training on our unique home euthanasia process and provide all supplies needed. We look for veterinarians who are compassionate, independent, and motivated to make a difference. Veterinarians in any stage of their career find that this work is fulfilling and rewarding, while still bringing new opportunities for learning and growth. We strive to have an inclusive team with diverse perspectives.
Responsibilities:
• You will drive to client homes and provide compassionate in-home euthanasia visits and quality of life consultations
• You will work closely with our Support Staff, maintaining an awareness of your appointment schedule and responding to changes
• You will respectfully transport pets for cremation
• You will maintain electronic medical records and controlled substance logs for your visits
• You will attend occasional team meetings, either in person or virtual, to collaborate with fellow doctors and engage with a supportive team

•We typically pay commission per visit for our PT/ FT associates. Commission rates start at $125/ single pet visit, $175/ multi-pet visit, $70/ aftercare only visit. On average, a full shift would accommodate 4-7 visits. We value full compensation transparency and would be happy to provide more compensation details upon request for all interested candidates.
• The position is eligible for a quarterly bonus (based on clinic performance).
• Doctors receive vehicle reimbursement ($.70/mi) for all miles driven during shift. Alternatively, a company- owned vehicle may be available for FT associate doctors. You start and end your workday directly at home, not at an office.
• Flexible part- time and full- time positions are available.
• FT associate veterinarians are asked to work 3-4 days per week and 1-2 Sunday shifts per month. We are willing to tailor schedules based on your availability and practice needs.
• Comprehensive benefit eligibility for both part-time and full-time veterinarians, which includes AVMA, VIN, and IAAHPC membership, PLIT, and unlimited time off. Additionally, company paid state/ DEA licenses and annual CE stipends are offered to full-time veterinarians.
