Bailey Abbed

Bailey was as unique as her name was common. Her quirky habits kept us laughing — and she knew it. She had a deep obsession with the fridge, could only approach stairs from the side, never met a pillow she didn’t adore, and took great pride in showing off any pillow she managed to “rescue” from the couch or a bed. She hated and even feared strawberries and ham but made Brussels sprouts look like candy.

Bailey had an incredible sense of timing — offering love and cuddles exactly when we needed them most, but also valuing her space and quiet moments in corners or on her grass in the sun. She adapted to our lives in her own endearing way: sleeping in bed upside down when Dad was home, or staying outside the bedroom “on guard” when he was traveling (though she excitedly greeted every person who came through the door so her on guard duty was a front). She had an uncanny internal clock for dinner time or whenever she felt mom needed a break from work even if it was during a zoom call.

Bailey showed us love in the silliest, sweetest ways, and our love for her continues to grow even now. Our lives are forever changed for the better for being her family, and we will never stop missing her.

Bailey, our precious forever puppy, made us better people.
