We are excited to announce the recipients of the PETS Certification Scholarship, awarded to individuals who are advancing their expertise in hospice and palliative care. This year’s scholarship winners are Sydney Bletsch, CVT, CPEP and Dr. Camila Silva, DVM, CPEV.

Sydney Bletsch is an experienced Certified Veterinary Technician who currently serves on the emergency team at BluePearl Duluth. She also leads at Willow Animal Hospital, where she oversees anesthesia and assists in surgeries. Sydney holds advanced certifications in Fear Free and Peaceful Euthanasia Professional, bringing both skill and compassion to her work.

Dr. Camila Silva is a compassionate veterinarian with a strong background in emergency medicine and specialized euthanasia services. She holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from UPIS in Brazil and a Master of Environmental Management from Bond University. Dr. Silva currently serves families through Rest Your Paws, helping to educate veterinary professionals on best practices in animal hospice and palliative care.

Sydney will use her $1,350 scholarship towards the Certified Hospice and Palliative Technician (CHPT) program, and Dr. Silva will apply her $1,450 scholarship to the Certified Hospice and Palliative Veterinarian (CHPV) program.

Both individuals have shown exceptional dedication to improving end-of-life care, and we are proud to support their continued growth in this vital field.
