FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Animal Hospice and Palliative Care Advanced Certification Program Registration Opens June 15th, 2018
International Association of Animal Hospice and Palliative Care (IAAHPC) – May 15th, 2018
Animal Hospice is an up-and-coming field! Expand your career to include an advanced certification in Animal Hospice and Palliative Care.
Do you feel fully equipped to treat the needs of a dying pet, as well as offering support to the families who are experiencing emotional pain that comes with the inevitable death of their beloved pet?
If you answered “No,” you are encouraged to read more to learn how you can elevate your knowledge and expertise in End-of-Life Care.
Veterinarians and credentialed veterinary technicians are invited to participate in the 3rd Animal Hospice and Palliative Care (AHPC) Certification Program offered by the IAAHPC.
Preparing for an animal’s death and comforting pet families takes special skills that are not addressed in depth in veterinary or veterinary technician schools. This advanced certification sets you up for success in providing exceptional end-of-life care and support for families.
The advanced certification is a 100-hour RACE approved continuing education program providing advanced study in hospice and palliative care for licensed veterinarians and credentialed veterinary technicians with experience in the veterinary field.
“There is a gap—treacherous yet barely recognized—between how we care for companion animals during their lifetime, and how we care for them during the end phase of their lives,” said Dr. Amir Shanan, IAAHPC founder and honorary advisor. “This gap has a tremendous cost in human suffering and grief, which is also barely recognized. Our program is aimed at giving veterinary professionals the tools for closing this gap.”
