Dr. Jessica Pierce is an affiliate faculty member at the Center for Bioethics and Humanities at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical School and president of the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care. Her research covers a broad span of topics in bioethics, with a focus on animal ethics and environmental bioethics. Jessica is the author of nine books, including The Animal's™ Agenda: Freedom, Compassion, and Coexistence in the Age of Humans (with Marc Bekoff) Run, Spot, Run: The Ethics of Keeping Pets and The Last Walk: Reflections on Our Pets at the Ends of Their Lives. She has a Ph.D. from the University of Virginia and an M.T.S. from Harvard University.
